COE Project Estimator/Installation Technicians- Alabama, North Carolina and Kentucky
Woltcom has a need for several Project COE Estimator/Installation Technicians
The ideal candidate would be willing to travel to Central Offices within his/her assigned geographic locations to determine RFQ work content, assist in submitting bids and perform the work associated with awarded bids.
Requirements:
Must be able to assess RFQ work content accurately
Must be able to perform lead functions on COE Work Orders with little or no supervision
Must be able to direct the activities of other installers
Must be capable of performing installation, test and turn-up on the following transport equipment:
ADTRAN, CALIX, BTI, NORTEL, FUJITSU 4100 & 4500, CISCO ROUTERS, ETHERNET SWITCHES
Capable of performing additions, removals and modification on working equipment and circuits
Must be familiar with all aspects of central office installation procedures and practices
Must be familiar with Telcordia GR1275 CO Environment Installation/Removal Requirements
Must be capable of performing circuit modifications, software additions or upgrades, power transition work, addition or removal of circuits on working power distribution sources and equipment testing and turn-up
Must be able to perform under minimum directions, with a high degree of individual initiative and technical skill, to exercise independent action on procedures, which are broad in scope
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and be able to climb step and CO ladders
Duties:
Installs and operates communications equipment such as digital transport systems, private line and special services circuits and associated equipment, trunking equipment, fiber optics systems, alarm systems, test equipment, etc. Installs, removes, rearranges, programs, test and troubleshoots various complex voice, data and ancillary equipment and network services
Uses a variety of test equipment to turn-up installed equipment and/or isolate, identify and analyze equipment trouble and takes appropriate action
Operates computer systems and support devices; installs and tests system upgrades/administers and maintains computer support systems data bases
Responds to emergency service-affecting situations/assists in trouble isolation of network problems.
Must have your own small CO hand tools and laptop with Windows XP
Need valid vehicle operator’s License and Safe reliable vehicle
Must be able to pass back ground check and a drug screening prior to employment
PAY: $25.00 per hour plus per diem for overnight stays
Travel Required: In-state travel is required. Offices to office
Required Citizenship: Authorized to work in U.S.
Experience Required: 3 yrs
